“Girona, temps de flors” is an flower exposition that took place for the first time in 1955 in the church of Sant Domènec organised by the female section of Falange Española Tradicionalista (the unique party during General Franco’s dictatorship). In the mid 90’s, the town hall and its mayor Joaquim Nadal decided to expand these expositions to other places of the city. The floral creations are made by voluntaries or professionals in the monuments of the ancient part of the city. In the recent editions, there’re also decorated and opened to the general public the courtyards of the ancient houses.
